An Overview
Kheerganga (2,960m ) is a refreshing trek in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The best time for the Kheerganga Trek is in the month of Mid-April to Mid-November. Barshaini is the nearest village from the base camp and the length of the trek is 12 km one way. Lying in the beautiful Parvati valley, the trek offers some enchanting views of the valley. The natural hot water spring at Kheerganga is an experience that you will remember for a lifetime. You will visit plenty of villages, and there will be enough opportunities for you to click pictures of the snow-capped peaks in the background. Kheerganga's vast greenery, panoramic skies, and the hot water spring is a much-needed delight to the eyes and especially the tired legs. It's not just the destination though, en route Kheerganga you will cross many waterfalls, the tremendous river flow and its thunderous sound do instill some fear into one’s heart about how strong Mother Nature really is. The vegetation changes dramatically and opens up into a flat land that is graced by the occasional tents, few guest houses and cafes and the temple premises which also comprises of the hot water spring. After the climb, you are rewarded with release from all your pains during the day and get to bathe in the hot spring and rejuvenate yourself. Visiting the temple at early dawn before you proceed to the pool is customary. The biting cold is forgotten once your body is in that sulfur heated water. The night sky that gives you a panoramic view of the outer Milky Way, and is a treat you must not miss.

This is the place where ‘Kartik Ji’, the elder son of ‘Lord Shiva’ remained in ‘samadhi’ for thousands of years.
Parvati river coming from Mantalai lake flows down nearby.
There is no electricity in KheerGanga and the lights run on solar power.
The hot water spring there is considered to have medicinal properties.
The place is open for about 8 months in a year and is not permanently inhabited.
Kheerganga Trek Itinerary
Day 1
The trip begins with our arrival in Kasol after a comfortable overnight journey from Delhi in a luxury AC Volvo bus. We spend the day at Kasol, getting accustomed to the hills and roaming around its colourful markets. The day ends with a night stay at Kasol.
Day 2
We depart from Kasol early in the morning and drive 30-45 minutes to Manikaran to visit the Temple/Gurudwara. After that, we begin with our 10 km drive to Barshaini, followed by the commencement of our trek to Kheerganga (13km). After reaching the destination, we take a refreshing dip in the hot water spring near the temple and night stay in tents.
Day 3
After catching a glorious sunrise from the elevation, we pack up and trek back to Barshaini and drive further till Kasol. Board the evening bus back to Delhi from Kasol with a heavy heart full of warmth and happy memories!
Day 4 (Optional with extra cost)
After the night stay on day 3 in Kasol, there will be an early morning 2 km trek from Kasol to Chhalal. Then 6 km trek from Chhalal to Rashol. Briefing about the place, exploring around and then back to Kasol. Departure from Kasol.
