Kedarkantha Trek: A Winter Wonderland

Knee-deep snow in winter, mesmerizing view from the top with beautiful and easy trails make it popular among trekkers. The ‘easy on endurance’ trail goes through the thick pine forests of Govind National Park. The views from the top are worth climbing to an altitude of 12,500 ft. Kedarkantha trek will give you an inimitable view of the cosmic sky, lush meadows, snow paths, charming villages, scented pine forests, sky-knocking peaks, tranquil rivers, and some mythological story whispers.

Experience the lovely campsites, where every site is unique in its way. Get a chance to camp around frozen Juda ka Talab which was once a place for meditation of Lord Shiva. Experience walking in the middle of the night, the head torches lighting the way, and watching the sunrise from the top of a mountain before you reach the Summit.

The climb to the peak of Kedarkantha starts from a small village called Sankri. There are 13 peaks in the Himalayan range visible from the Kedarkantha peak. The experience of the summit climb is exceptional and stays with you for a long time. There is a lake called Juda-ka-Talab, the locals say that once upon a time Lord Shiva meditated at Kedarkantha. Its name implies so from the droplet that fell from Shiva's hair to form this lake named as Juda-ka-Talab. During this trek, you will see Godly peaks like Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch. The Kedarkantha trek is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
